Application Process
Apartment/condo EV charging rebates require you to get pre-approval from BC Hydro before proceeding with any required electrical work or charger purchasing. Exception: EV Ready plan only.
Here’s how the application process works:
Apply for pre-approval
You’ll receive a confirmation number via email
Wait to be pre-approved
We’ll notify you via email, usually within 30 days.
Complete your project
Get the infrastructure and/or chargers installed. Be sure to have your contractor complete the required documentation.
Submit your final application
Come back and submit your project invoices and documentation.
We’ll review your documents
If approved, we’ll send your rebate payment with 90 days.
1. EV Ready rebates
You have the option to apply for all of these rebates at once to make the process of upgrading your building for EVs more efficient, or you can apply for them individually as your project progresses.
EV Ready plan rebate: A rebate of up to $3,000 for the creation of an EV Ready plan – a professional strategy for your building to make at least one parking space per residential unit EV Ready.
EV Ready infrastructure rebate: A rebate of up to $600 per parking space to install the electrical infrastructure required to implement your EV Ready plan, to a maximum of $120,000.
EV charger rebate: A rebate of up to $1,400 per charger to purchase and install Level 2 networked EV chargers to implement your building’s EV Ready plan, to a maximum of $14,000.
2. Standalone EV charger rebate
EV charger rebate: A rebate of up to $2,000 per charger to purchase and install Level 2 networked EV chargers at your building’s residential parking spaces, to a maximum of $14,000.

A copy of the EV Ready plan that was created for you/your property.
EV Ready plan invoice
A copy of the paid invoice from the electrical contractor and/or professional engineer for the costs to create the EV Ready plan. If these costs aren’t due until the EV Ready infrastructure is installed, upload the quote for the plan instead.
